Elks add American wide receiver Jalon Calhoun to the practice roster.

EDMONTON - The Edmonton Elks have added American wide receiver Jalon Calhoun to the practice roster, the club announced Tuesday.

Calhoun (5'11, 191) returns to Edmonton after having spent time with the Elks on the club's practice roster in 2025. The Greenville, South Carolina native suited up for the final game of the regular season that year, recording four receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown against the Calgary Stampeders. Calhoun was a member of the Elks for training camp in 2026, but was among the final cuts ahead of the start of the season.

Prior to his time in the CFL, Calhoun suited up for the Duke Blue Devils for five seasons (2019-2023), recording 253 receptions for 3,026 yards and 17 touchdowns during his college career. Calhoun's most prolific season came in 2022, when he caught 62 balls for 873 yards and four touchdowns. The wide receiver went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, but would sign with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent.
